OVERVIEW
Our philosophy is simple: NO SPEED LIMIT! Whether it’s your first time or you’re a regular racing pro, we make sure everyone is able to experience the freedom and the exhilaration of driving a high performance vehicle in a safe, comfortable and fun environment.
Clean, Green and No Gasoline are not usually words you hear when it comes to Go Kart Racing, but at Brass City Raceway & Axe Throwing, you’ll experience the adrenaline-filled thrill of head-to-head racing in our green, eco-friendly Italian made OTL Storm Karts.
Brass City Raceway & Axe Throwing is an upscale indoor kart racing facility and it is the closest thing to real racing that you will ever experience. Racing can be spontaneous or a well-planned and coordinated event. Race against friends, family, and other racing enthusiasts on a quarter mile track full of straight-aways and tight turns that keep you wrestling with your steering wheel.
Our raceway is equipped with live-time scoring on our massive scoreboards an full blown arcades, batting cage, Axe Throwing targets and other activities to keep the party going between your races.
HOW IT WORKS
Our primary mode of operation is what the industry calls “Arrive & Drive” racing. Simply visit the track during normal business hours and we’ll book you, your friends, and your family into upcoming heats.
Since we provide all the necessary equipment, all you need to do is dress appropriately in comfortable clothes and well-secured footwear (no open toes or open heels; shoe rentals are available in limited quantities).
For safety reasons, adults (ages 13 and up) and juniors (ages 7 – 13 and at least 48″ tall) race in separate heats. Adult and junior heats are scheduled as customer demand dictates. Please remember all drivers under 18 years must have our waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
1. REGISTER
When you arrive at the facility, you will be asked to register. We respect your time, the process is painless and allows you to be scheduled in races. Once you register and your account is created, your purchased races will be stored in our system automatically. During this process you’ll get to pick out a cool “racer name” that gets displayed on our “live-scoring” scoreboards during the races.
2. GET SCHEDULED
After you register, you can speak to one of our customer service raceway staff at the front counter to schedule your races. For many of you, this will be your first time at our facility. This is your opportunity to ask questions about the races, and our many packages and specials.
3. Race!!!
You and your group will be called over the PA system when your race is up. At that point, you will participate in a short kart safety briefing and then you are off to the races. Each heat is a race to 12 laps for adults, or 10 laps for our junior racers. At Brass City Raceway & Axe Throwing, we race for lap time so the fastest lap time will win the race. Each racer will receive a race results sheet with cool status and position information.
PRO TIP: The more you race, the faster you get! Most racers see a 0.5 to 1.5 second faster lap time on just their second race. Feel free to ask one of our track staff about tips and tricks for putting down fast lap times.
Rules, Regulations and Instructions
In Order to provide the safest possible go-karting experience, we require everyone to comply with the following:
Reckless go-kart driving is prohibited. Any driving that is dangerous, endangers other participants, or may result in damage to the kart, track, or the track personnel will result in the immediate loss of driving privileges and forfeiture of any fee paid.
Our Karts are not “bumper cars.” Any intentional bumping will be considered reckless driving.
DO NOT RACE with loose items, loose clothing, and or unsecured long hair. Racing with such items can cause injuries. If you have any doubt as to the length of your hair or any other conditions, DO NOT RACE and check with the front desk manager first.
Driving under the influence of alcohol, prescription and or illegal drugs is strictly prohibited.
When entering and exiting the kart, care must be taken to avoid touching the engine which may be hot enough to cause burns.
Never get out of the go-kart while on the track. If you need assistance, pull to the side of the track, raise your hand and wait for the track personnel to help you. If you start to feel sick, pull into the pit and take a break.
Walking onto any portion of the track or beyond any divided partitions is prohibited.
You must pay attention to and comply with all go-kart racing flag signals and the instructions of the track personnel.
Please feel free to ask any questions you have before driving. Any go-karting rule violations may be considered sufficient enough to revoke driving privileges and forfeit any fees paid. Thank you for your cooperation.
All sales are final. No refunds will be issued.
SAFETY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENT OF GO-KART RACING!
We cannot emphasize enough that indoor kart racing is a non-contact sport! We do not tolerate any bumping or blocking of karts. If you are unable to pass a kart, there is NO excuse for contact.
Brass City Raceway also has a strict, zero-tolerance policy regarding alcohol and/or drug abuse. Anyone who appears to be under the influence will NOT be permitted to race.
Kart racing poses special risks to those with neck or back problems and heart conditions. Customers who are pregnant, with heart conditions, head, back, and neck ailments, or seizures are PROHIBITED from racing. Anyone who should not be in a stressful or physically demanding environment should consult their physician before driving. If you have any doubts, please check with your doctors before racing.
